Part 2:

Where did train boy go?

Taking my Lakeshore West train became boring once again.

Just as he was starting to leave my mind, I saw him, but on my first train this time.

I get on at the Maple station, and one morning, train boy re-appeared at the next stop – Rutherford.

My heart skipped a beat. So, this is strange, I thought. He lives in my area too.

As the weeks went by I’d keep seeing him on my first train. We would both get off at Union and go our separate ways – he clearly was alive (thank goodness) and perhaps moved jobs as he was no longer in the Liberty Village area.

Still, I couldn’t bring myself to say anything to him.

I was at the gym one evening (Schwartz/Reisman Centre) for a fitness session after work when I saw him. UM WHAT??? He was in the front of the weights section lifting (heavy weights obviously) and I couldn’t stop staring. Is this real life? He goes to the same gym as me too? I had never seen him before and I go about four times a week…

Butterflies started creeping up in my stomach. Should I say something? Does he know who I am? Is he stalking me?

I still couldn’t bring myself to say a simple “hello.”

Another week went by until I saw him at the gym again.  I was in the weight section as well this time. I kept looking over at him in my peripheral…trying not to be that obvious that I was freaking out inside. I tried to think of things to say to him. “Do you go here often?” Okay, that’s just lame. “I see you everywhere” Too stalker-ish. I left the gym without talking to train(gym) boy.

The following week…

Stay tuned for part 3!

  • How did Jonathan and I start talking?
  • Who made the first move?
